The Home Office has officially announced changes in the English Language requirements for those applying for Settlement in the UK and British Citizenship. As of 28/10/2013 before applying for any of the categories stated you will have to pass the Life in The UK Test and also pass an English language test in Speaking and Listening at B1 level (ESOL entry level 3 equivalent).
